I'm officially a certified yoga teacher now with the title Siromani (but don't check the spelling on that one right now)! It has been an interesting few days as we concluded our program, graduated, and people started to leave. Oh the roller coaster of life.
There are about 30 of us now in Varkala beach which is about 2.5 hours North of Trivandrum. It is a beautiful beach with a huge cliff where all the hotels are. I am sharing a room for $6/night with a private bath (that's only $3/night for me!), and I can see the beach out of the window and door which we keep wide open for a lovely breeze.
I'll be in Varkala for a few days and will then go back to the ashram for 1 month work study. The Kids Camp starts on Sat, so there will be 80-100 Indian kids there which will I'm sure add another level of energy that I can't even imagine right now.
I wish I had more exciting things to report, but right now life is just complete, peaceful, and all around good. It's also fun to be taught by all of these "kids" in their early 20's how to live cheaply on the road and not worry about it. I'm definitely attached to too much stuff that really isn't necessary to enjoy this amazing ride. And I greatly look forward to returning to a washing machine and 30 pairs of unmentionables so that I only have to do laundry - in a machine - once a month! Hahaha!
My body is strong, though. My mind and ego continue to fight for survival, and my true Self is shining brightly through it all. What a grand life!
