A lot of people have asked if I'm packed and ready to go. With 2 days and counting, officially done with employment, and soon to be carless, here is what I have to say.
I've got a plane ticket, a passport with visa, and a credit card. I'm going to India! There are, of course, a ton of last minute "oh my goodness" moments like will Dubai's and India's customs allow me into the country with my Japanese Encephilitis vaccine and 2 needles? International SOS is not so sure. And if I can get in with it, who am I going to get to give me this intra-muscular injection? And will the horrid smell of permethrin ever dissipate from my clothes (and house)? And will it actually work to keep the bugs away from my tasty skin? Will I get clastrophobic on the 15 hour plane ride? Is the 10# converter/adapter going to put my luggage over the weight limit?
I really look at all this as insignicant at this point. I'm going to India! And it's going to be an amazing ride. Enjoy your ride wherever it is taking you!
